Good things don’t last, and so the mainland boats are running again in time for spring break. Ugh!
They were out in force last night, hooting and giggling until 3 – 4 AM, and completely oblivious to the (not so secret fact) that other people are trying to sleep. Then, one of them came around this morning with a radio playing at full blast – that obnoxious, mindless crap they call music these days – at 6:00 AM!
Remember that these are our so-called “leaders of tomorrow,” and so there is no way they cannot know this is anti-social behaviour. Moreover, there is no way to couch it as youthful exuberance. This is irresponsible, conscious and deliberate hooliganism.
So, good luck on the ‘tomorrow’ thing.
Otherwise, it’s another perfect day weatherwise. A bit blustery, but 28C (78F) and sunny. We get very little rain here on Ambergris – a fifteen minute shower now and then. The problem is blowing sand; a fine sand that is mixed with salt to coat everything. And it’s sticky.
Vivian, our manager/housekeeper and go-to gal, is kept going just keeping up to it. Nonetheless the place is spotless, and if it wasn’t for being located on Ambergris I’d be singing its praises from the highest mountain.
I’m starting to get some interest in Two Irish Lads: Second Edition but Barnes and Noble are still not co-operating. My publisher says that some authors have waited six weeks before B&N got around to listing their books – As if being an author wasn’t hard enough already!
More next time.
